Ski foahn (oder meine ersten Versuche im Langlauf) und Seewanderung / Ski ( my first tries of Cross Country)

Vorletzte Woche Montag war es ziemlich frostig draußen, sodass der Schnee hier wie Puder war. Das wurde auch genutzt, Olaf und Javier wollten wissen, ob ich denn Lust habe, mal Langlauf auszuprobieren. Ein, zwei Stunden später gingen wir dann von Kurjen tila aus durch den Tiefschnee eines Feldes zu einem beleuchteten Waldweg, wo auch bereits eine Loipe vorhanden ist, und dort stellte ich mich dann auf die Langlaufski. Es war anfangs noch etwas wacklig, aber nach ein paar Minuten hatte ich mich auch daran gewöhnt dass diese Ski viel dünner sind als „normale“. Etwas seltsam ist, dass die Skischuhe an der Ferse nicht befestigt sind, sondern nur vorn. Nach den ersten paar Versuchen ging es dann ziemlich leicht. Bei einer Stelle, die ziemlich steil bergauf geht und dies ziemlich anstrengend ist (es wird einem dabei schnell warm), fiel ich auch um, aber ich glaube das gehört zum Skifahren dazu, dass man auch mal umfällt. Mir ist nichts passiert, für die, die sich nun Sorgen gemacht hatten. ;) Für meinen ersten Versuch lief es doch ziemlich gut mit dem Langlauf.

Die Tage zuvor war es ebenfalls ziemlich kalt, teilweise rutschte das Thermometer unter -19°C, vor allem morgens. Das zieht natürlich auch nach sich, dass die Gewässer rundherum mit dicken Eisdecken zugefroren sind. Nachdem mir versichert wurde, dass das Eis dick genug ist, ging ich dann von der schwimmenden Sauna aus über den zugefrorenen See, der ziemlich lang und groß ist. In ca. einem Kilometer sah und hörte ich, dass ich nicht der einzige auf dem Eis war, zwei Jungs heizten mit ihren Quads oder Motorrädern über das Eis und drifteten dabei auch hin und her, inklusive kleinen Schneewolken. Währenddessen ging ich weiter zu jener Insel im See, von welcher ich im Sommer aus, siehe vorherige Posts, Bilder vom Sonnenuntergang gemacht habe. Es war sehr schön, da alles verschneit war und die Sonne tief am Horizont stand, sodass alles in einem leicht rötlichen Licht war.

Monday last week it was very cold outside, so that the Snow here was like Powder. This opportunity was used, Olaf and Javier wanted to know if I'd like to try cross-country-skiing. One to two hours after that we went from Kurjen tila through deep snow to an illuminated Way in the forest, where there was also a cross country ski track, and there I put the skis on. At first it was a bit unsteady, but after a few minutes I got used to the fact that these Ski are thinner than "normal" ones. It is a bit strange that with these Ski the Shoe is only attached at the front and the Heel can be lifted up. After the first tries it went on easily. At one place of the track where it is quite steep, which is also quite demanding (you get warm fast), I fell down, but I think that's normal for skiing to fall a few times at the beginning. Nothing happened to me, for those who were now worried. ;) For my first try it went pretty well with the Cross Country Skiing.

The days before it was also really cold, sometimes the thermometer went down to around -19°C, especially in the mornings. This involves that all the waters around are covered with thick Ice. After it was assured to me that the ice is thick enough, I went from the floating Sauna onto the lake, which is quite long and big. Approx. one kilometer away, I saw and heard that I am not the only one on the Ice, two Guys were driving with their Quads or Motorbikes across the Ice and drifting, including small Snowclouds. I went to the Island in the Lake from where I made Pictures of the Sunset, see earlier posts. It was really bautiful because everything was covered in Snow and the Sun hanging low on the horizon, so that everything was in a slightly reddish light.
